The Investigations Bureau investigates all crimes within the City of Wayne. These may include burglary, sex crimes, motor vehicle theft, homicide, assaults, narcotics, arson, fraud, larceny, prostitution, and vandalism.
The bureau's goal is to identify, locate, arrest, and prosecute those who commit crimes in the City of Wayne. Detectives are responsible for responding to major crime scenes, following up on reported crimes by the patrol division, interviewing all related parties, preparing warrant requests and search warrants, and initiating investigations.
In addition to criminal investigations, detectives register sex offenders and also conduct background investigations on the prospective dispatcher and patrol officer new hire candidates.
